Repair Logs
This page was getting rather long, so we broke it up into
sections for each board type
There doesn't seem to be much information about repairing
arcade game logic boards and power supplies available on the Net. There
are a few links on my links page, but very few tell you how the problem
was found. Most are lists of problems and solutions. For this
reason, I go into detail so you can see not only the problem and solution,
but also how the problem was tracked down. Hopefully, my ramblings on
this page help others to track down and repair their game boards also.
The main tools I use to do repairs are:
- Logic Probe - Great for troubleshooting TTL chips
- Soldering Iron, solder wick and solder
- Multi-meter - For testing components and checking continuity
- JAMMA bench test rig - Power Supply, Monitor and standard controls
A typical JAMMA rig may be seen here.
- JAMMA adaptors - to convert the game pinouts to JAMMA
Why JAMMA? Well, it's the most flexible standard out there.
Good Luck!
