Venture pinouts
Exidy, 1981

There are two boards to the Venture boardset, the logic and the audio board.

The audio booard is labeled with:
      Exidy Inc.
      Copyright 1981
      PCB 77-3387-14
      ASY 77-3387-15
      Audio/Color    ---
                     |B|
                     ---

And the logic board is labeled with:
                       PCB  77-3374-14   COMP
           Exidy Inc   ASSY 77-3374-15   SIDE
      Copyright 1981   Revision E

The audio board is the top board. It has a 30-pin edge connector and 3 10-pin
connectors. Only the edge connector at P5 and the 10-pin connector at P21 are
used. The other two connectors at J2 and J3 are not used.

The logic board has two edge connectors: a 44-pin at J1 and a 40-pin at J0.
Only the 44-pin connector at J1 is used.

My guess is that the unused connectors on both boards are used for testing the
boards.

CP = Control Panel (15 pin connector, 5 rows of 3)
CH = Coin Harness (6 pin connector)
RB = Regulator Board Power Supply (12 pin connector)
PS = 5V Power Supply (3 pin connector)
AB = Audio Board
LB = Logic Board
MV = Monitor Video

The game is powered using these supply outputs:
+5V DC       @ 6 amps
-5V DC       @ 1 amp
+12V DC (HI) @ 3 amps
+12V DC (LO) @ 1 amp
-12V DC (HI) @ 3 amps
-12V DC (LO) @ 1 amp

+ These are not wired on my original machine, although they are wired
    to the control panel connector.
* This may be incorrect as pin 9 is not wired on my machine, but the
    schematic indicates it.
** This has a green ground wire coming off the edge connector on my
    machine. Maybe the pinouts are off by one on all these grounds?
    Looking at the edge, pins 10 through 21 are all ground.

My Audio Board has an edge connector with pins 1 and A, 2 and B, etc soldered
together. Also, whereas the Logic board lists pins 1 through 22 on the
component side, the audio board seems to list pins 1 through 15 as being on
the solder side. I'm looking at the traces on each side of the edge, and only
the solder side appears to go to any IC's, capacitors, etc. The component side
has traces going from pin A to pin S, pin B to pin R, ..., pin F to pin L.
Hmm...after looking at the traces on each side it seems to make sense that
pins 1 and A, 2 and B, ..., 15 and S are soldered together.  Some of the
traces for the pins are dead ends on one side yet lead somewhere if you follow
the trace for the corresponding pin on the other side.
